Neighborhood public art project coming to Lattawood

The city of Bellevue has selected Lattawood Park as the site of the next Public Art Project! As part of Bellevue’s Public Art Program, The Bellevue’s Arts Commission reviews numerous proposed sites for public art and Lattawood Park was selected along with one other in Lake Hills.

Artwork

A bit about the program:

These neighborhood public art projects are community-based projects where themes for the artwork are identified by the neighborhood, and in the case of Lattawood Park, would need to draw some inspiration from the park. The artist is selected by a panel of neighborhood residents, professional artists and an Arts Commissioner. In other projects, the artist has worked closely with the community to generate the design of the artwork. This project will be no different in terms of community involvement. Here are a couple of links to past projects that have just recently been completed in Bridle Trails and Newport Hills:

Come learn more and get involved:

Before this project can get started, the Bellevue Arts Program needs to meet with the surrounding communities, lay out the program for everyone and gauge interest and potential involvement from the residents. We have asked Scott MacDonald, the Arts Program Coordinator to attend our upcoming annual meeting on November 12th at 7:00 pm at Newport Way Library in order to discuss further with our neighborhood. Please come and find out more and see how you can get involved to help complement our already beautiful park with some great art!
