Traffic

Normally a WHCCA board member is assigned to monitor and coordinate any traffic issues which might arise in or affecting our community. The purpose of the traffic committee of WHCCA is to monitor the proposed City of Bellevue construction projects and traffic regulations. Also, any questions concerning traffic signs, road construction, and parking regulations can be directed to the Committee.

If you have traffic-related suggestions or concerns, email the appropriate board member with your suggestion. This person will also update other board members and the WHCCA web site if information is received from the City of Bellevue about traffic projects affecting our neighborhood.

Have an abandoned car on your street?

The Bellevue Police Department's Traffic Section accepts online traffic service requests concerning speeding vehicles, problem traffic areas or parking problems in the city limits. Requests will be given to a supervisor in the Traffic Section for review and further action. If requested, information about the origin of all traffic service requests will be kept confidential.

PAST TRAFFIC PROJECTS

In 2002, WHCCA got the city to place permanent "Residential Area" signs at each end of SE 46th Way. We also borrowed a radar dolly for a couple of weeks and will do so again in the future to help remind those driving through our neighborhood that not exceeding the speed limit is important for the safety of our children and pets.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN FOR OUR CHILDREN'S SAKE!

When school is in session, there are children on the streets walking to school bus stops. Fall brings reduced daylight and increased visibility problems as rain and fog begin to be a factor during the commute. Children may suddenly cross the road without warning.  Whatever speed you drive elsewhere, please do not exceed 25 mpg on neighborhood streets.
